Did you know that every year an Elephant Festival is held in India that includes a parade of brightly decorated elephants? Elephants are celebrated and revered in Indian Culture. In this activity, Little Explorers will have the opportunity to decorate their own elephants while developing fine motor skills. This is a perfect activity for individual children or entire classrooms!
Supplies:
Crayons
Black or Grey Watercolor paint (This is my favorite brand)
Elephant template
Directions:
Print out the following page. Invite your Little Explorers to look at the colorful image of this painted elephant and to create their very own! Instruct them to use the crayons to make beautiful designs on the elephant template, making sure to press hard as they color. When they’ve finished, paint over the elephant with grey watercolor paint. After it dries, cut it out. You can decorate several of them and line them up in a parade!
Did your Little Explorer enjoy this activity? We would love to hear about it! Please share your learning through play experiences with us on Instagram at @littleexplorersbigworld!
